LADIES BRITISH OPEN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Royal County Down G.C.

Krystle Caithness  has lost in the third round to British girls' champion Anna Nordqvist, 19, from Sweden. Anna produced some of the best golf of the championship so far and was seven under par when she beat Krystle by 4 and 3. Anna started birdie-birdie-eagle to be three up but Krystle kept fighting and was two under par at the finish, figures that would have been good enough to win most of the other third-round ties.

The semi-finalists are:

M Hernandez (Spain) vs A Nordqvist (Sweden)
B Mozo (Spain) vs N Edwards (Ganton)

LADIES BRITISH OPEN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Royal County Down G.C.

In the first round of the match-play stages, Krystle Caithness and Louise Kenney, gave it their best shot under pressure to score 19th hole victories. They were the only Scots to make it through to the last 32.

Louise  unfortunately lost by 5 and 4 to the experienced Irish champion Tricia Mangan in the next round. However, Krystle  went on to win by 4 and 3 over French-Canadian Maude-Aimee Leblanc.

Krystle  now plays the tall, 19-year-old blonde Swedish ace, Anna Nordqvist, who won the British girls' open title last year.

LADIES BRITISH OPEN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Royal County Down G.C.

Well done to Louise Kenney and Krystle Caithness for qualifying in 26th and 37th place respectively for the match-play stages of the Ladies British Open Championship.

Louise plays Mary-Ann Lapointe from North Halton in the first round. Krystle plays Melissa Reid from Chevin.
