LADIES BRITISH OPEN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Royal County Down G.C.
In the first round of the match-play stages, Krystle Caithness and Louise Kenney, gave it their best shot under pressure to score 19th hole victories. They were the only Scots to make it through to the last 32. Louise unfortunately lost by 5 and 4 to the experienced Irish champion Tricia Mangan in the next round. However, Krystle went on to win by 4 and 3 over French-Canadian Maude-Aimee Leblanc. Krystle now plays the tall, 19-year-old blonde Swedish ace, Anna Nordqvist, who won the British girls' open title last year.
