SCOTLAND SENIOR WOMEN'S TRAINING SQUAD
Well done to Lorna Bennett and Emma Wilson for being named in the SLGA seniors' training squad. The squad, under the team captaincy of Pam Gordon (Inverness), will have practice sessions at Hamilton Golf Club, in preparation for the senior women's home international matches from October 3 to 5.
The Scotland team of seven for the internationals will be named after the Scottish senior women's stroke play and match-play championships at Machrichanish from August 31 to September.

FIFE LADIES GOLF TEAM FOR DUNBAR
The following players have been selected to represent Fife in the East Division women's inter-county team championship at Dunbar Golf Club from June 26 to 28:

In addition, Krystle and Louise have been named as 1st and 2nd reserve respectively for the Scottish team at the British Women's Open Amateur Championship at Royal County Down GC, June 13-17.
Krystle has also been named as 1st reserve for the Scottish Team at the St. Rule Trophy at St. Andrews, June 3-4 with Fiona Lockhart as 2nd reserve.

SCOTTISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Dunbar
Louise Kenney was narrowly beaten by Anne Laing in the semi-finals of the Scottish Ladies Championship. Louise played great golf and should be very proud of her performance throughout the week.
Three times title-winner Anne gained revenge over Fiona Lockhart, who beat her in last year's final at Cruden Bay, with a 5 and 4 win in the morning quarter-finals. Then in the semi-final, Anne came back from two down at the turn to grind out a one-hole win over the No 2 seed and new course record-holder Louise Kenney (Pitreavie).

Well done to the defending champion, Fiona Lockhart, and Louise Kenney for reaching the last eight of the Scottish Ladies Championship. In the second round Fiona beat our Fife Ladies Champion, Elaine Moffat, by 4 and 3. It was unfortunate that two of our county players met each other so early in the championship. Jocelyn Carthew lost on the last hole in the first round.

SCOTTISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Dunbar
Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) has shot an amazing seven-under-par 65 in the first qualifying round of the Scottish Women's Championship at Dunbar. This score sliced four strokes off the women's course record of 69, which was set by Catriona Lambert 16 years ago.
Jocelyn Carthew had a level par round of 72. Defending champion, Fiona Lockhart, had a 75 and the Fife Ladies Champion, Elaine Moffat, shot 76.

SVLGA INTER-DIVISIONAL MATCH - Glenisla G.C.
Midland beat North in a tight finish to their SVLGA inter-divisional match at Glenisla Golf Club. Midlands won the trophy by 3 1/2-2 1/2 after winning the top two ties. Lorna Bennett beat Ann Smart by one hole while Fiona De Vries beat Kathleen Sutherland by 2 and 1.
Liz Miskimmin got the victory-clinching point by beating Aberdeenshire county captain Ros Dunsmuir 2 and 1.

FCLGA CHAMPIONSHIP - Scotscraig
Congratulations to Elaine Moffat for winning the FCLGA Championship for the third time. Elaine previously won the Championship in 1996 and 2000.
Elaine Moffat (St. Regulus) beat Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) by 3 and 2 in the final.
In the semi-finals, Elaine beat Lorna Bennett (Ladybank) by 4 and 2 and Louise beat defending Champion, Fiona Lockhart (St. Regulus), by 3 and 2.
The standard of golf was excellent and all the games played in great spirit.
We are lucky to have such a wealth of talented golfers within our County - well done.

Jocelyn Carthew (Ladybank) pipped Lorna Bennett (Leven) for the top scratch prize. They both shot 73s against a par and CSS of 71. Jocelyn won the prize with a better inward half.

CUTHBERTSON CUP - Broomieknowe
Well done to the Fife Girls' Team of Susan Jackson, Hannah Harvey, Rachel Myles and Camilla Tait for finishing in 2nd place. The girls beat Stirling & Clackmannanshire by 3 games to 1 in the morning matches. I n the afternoon the girls were narrowly beaten by 1½ games to 2½ in blustery (and wet!) conditions. The matches were all played in a very friendly manner and the girls did the County proud.

FRENCH JUNIOR LADIES OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP - St Cloud Golf Club, near Paris
No 2 seed Krystle Caithness (St Regulus) was beaten in the first round of the matchplay stages of the French Junior Ladies Open Championship by Laura Gonzalez of Belgium. The result was 4&3.
Qualifying Rounds
Krystle Caithness, with excellent rounds of 71 and 70, earned herself the No 2 seed position in the match-play stages. The 17-year-old pupil at Waid Academy, Anstruther, a member of the St Regulus Club, St Andrews, had a total of three-under-par 141, bettered only by Anna Nordqvist, the Swedish girl who won the British girls' open championship last year.

FIFE COUNTY LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP
Scottish women's amateur champion Fiona Lockhart made a good start to her defence of the Fife women's title at Scotscraig by sharing the lowest score of the day with another past national champion, Elaine Moffat, in the qualifying round. Both St Regulus members, Fiona and Elaine returned very good scores of 75 - one under the CSS in bright but cold and windy conditions. Elaine gained the No 1 seed spot on a card count back and also won the Coronation Medal for the best net score - a 73 off two of a handicap.
