PAULL & WILLIAMSONS' GIRL RANKINGS
Krystle Caithness completed a brilliant season by ending it as No 1 in the Paull and Williamsons' girls' rankings for 2005.
The 16-year-old from Cellardyke, a member of the St Regulus Club, St Andrews, won the SLGA St Leonards Under-16 girls' open title for the second year in a row and also won the Scottish Under-18 girls' open stroke-play title at West Kilbride.
Krystle has been a member of the Scotland women's home international team for the past two years.
She had an average score of +1.67 in relation to CSS in nine of the girls' ranking tournaments designated by the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association.
Hannah Harvey (St. Leonards) finished in 17th place.
PAULL & WILLIAMSONS' LADIES RANKINGS
Clare Queen topped the Ladies rankings.
Louise Kenney finished tied for 6th place, Krystle Caithness was 8th, Fiona Lockhart 11th and Jocelyn Carthew 14th.

DAILY TELEGRAPH JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS GRAND FINAL - DUBAI
There were three Scottish girls in the field for the girls' section of the annual Daily Telegraph junior championships grand final at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club course . Emma Fairnie (Peebles) and Carly Booth (Auchterarder) qualified by being several under par in designated tournaments. Krystle Caithness, was a tournament organisers' choice. The Grand Final was played in strength-sapping conditions and heat and humidity for every round. Krystle Caithness finished fifth on 231 with rounds of 77, 76 and 78. (Carly was 3rd on 223 and Emma 9th on 253)

Krystle Caithness (St Regulus), won the Scottish Champion of Champions title at Glasgow Gailes by three strokes with a scratch 77.

THE SPIRIT
Walker Cup player Lloyd Saltman (Craigielaw), John Gallagher (Swanston), Scottish Ladies Champion Fiona Lockhart (St Regulus) and Jenna Wilson (Strathaven) formed Scotland's mixed golf team for The Spirit International Amateur Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club, Trinity, Texas from October 12 to 15. The Spirit is a self-styled "Olympics of amateur golf," held every two years at the same venue, and decided on a better-ball format.
Scotland finished 18th overall on 10 under par 566, with a gradual improvement each day. Scottish Ladies Champion Fiona Lockhart and Jemma Wilson tied for 15th place on the Women's leaderboard with an even par 288, and Lloyd Saltman and John Gallagher were tied for 18th place on 10 under 278.

SCOTTTISH VETERAN LADIES GOLFING ASSOCIATION
Anne Moffat and Isobel Harvey won the Beddows Quaich greensomes tournament with a net round of 72 off seven of a handicap in the final event of the Scottish Veteran Ladies Golfing Association three-day programme at Blairgowrie.
Anne and Isobel also had the best scratch score of 79 to win the SVLGA Foursomes Trophy

NORTH Berwick's Moira Thomson gained revenged for defeat in last year's Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association championship final when she defeated Lorna Bennett (Ladybank) by 2 and 1 over the Lansdowne course in non-stop rain at Blairgowrie.

EAST OF SCOTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
Scottish champion Fiona Lockhart, pipped two St Regulus clubmates, Elaine Moffat and Krystle Caithness for the East of Scotland women's amateur golf championship at Murrayfield Golf Club. All three players finished with 74s and Fiona, who had covered the back nine in three under par with three birdies, won with the best inward half.
Not surprisingly, Fife won the team event with a total of 222 with the best three scores from their four players: Fiona Lockhart, Elaine Moffat, Krystle Caithness and Jocelyn Carthew (77).

SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL
Bad weather forced the cancellation of the afternoon singles play in the schools golf international match between Scotland and England at Glasgow Gailes. The morning foursomes were played in very strong winds and torrential rain but the organisers felt it the conditions were simply too bad to send the boys and girls out again. Scotland won the girls foursomes 2-1 in the morning.

IT'S MIDLOTHIANS' TITLE AFTER 70-YEAR WAIT
HOME INTERNATIONALS
Scotland beat Wales 6-3 in their final match of the women's home amateur golf internationals at Dundalk, Ireland today but two wins out of three was not enough to make them champions.
That honour was earned by England who, after beating Wales on Wednesday and then Scotland on Thursday, completed a 100 % successful campaign with a 5 ½-3 ½ win over Ireland.
Kylie Walker was the most successful player in the Scotland camp with five points out of six.
She was closely followed by Krystle with four points out of six.

VETERAN LADIES GOLFING ASSOCIATION
Scotland finished up with the wooden spoon in the Veteran Ladies Golfing Association area team championship at Hayling Island, Hampshire. Bidding to win the title and the Miller Stirling Trophy for the third year in a row, the Scots lost all three matches - 5-4 to North of England, 6-3 to Midlands and, finally, 7-2 to South of England.
North beat Midlands 6-3 in the title decider.

BARNARDOS SCOTLAND GRAND FINAL
Balbirnie Park six-handicapper Jean Duncan won the Barnardos Scotland Grand Final women's competition at Arbroath Golf Club by a single point. Jean totalled 37 Stableford points to pip Lynda Birse (Arbroath Artisans), playing over her home course, who scored 36pt.
A total of 38 players qualified for the Grand Final in which 32 took part. The CSS was 71.

BRITISH GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP
Only four Scottish players figured among the 64 competitors who qualified for the start of the match-play stages in the British girls' open amateur golf championship at West Hill Golf Club, Surrey - Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle), Carly Booth (Auchterarder), Krystle Caithness (St Regulus) and Sally Watson (Elie & Earlsferry).
In the first round Krystle beat the 28th qualifier, Emma Sheffield (Newark) by one hole.
In the second round Krystle beat the English women's champion, teenager Felicity Johnson from Birmingham, by one hole.
In the third round Krystle triumphed against the 2003 runner up Beatriz Recari (Spain) beating her 5&4.
Krystle Caithness's great run in the British girls' open amateur golf championship ended in the quarter-finals. The 16-year-old was beaten 5 and 4 by the No 4 seed, Anna Nordqvist (Sweden).
MARY McCALLAY TROPHY
Jenna Wilson from Strathaven won the Mary McCallay Trophy 36-hole women's open tournament at Dumfries & Galloway Golf Club by the staggering margin of 11 strokes.

Scotland came back well in the singles to draw with Wales 4½-4½ but it was England, who thrashed Ireland 9-0 on the final day, that won the girls' home international matches for the Stroyan Cup for the sixth year in a row.
