FIFE COUNTY LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP 2007

The Fife Ladies County Championship took place at Dunfermline Golf Club from 21st -22nd April 2007.

In the first round, two matches went to extra holes.  Lorna Fury won on the 20th against Elspeth Hodgetts.  Defending Champion, Elaine Moffat, chipped in on the first extra hole for an eagle two to win against  17 year old, Susan Jackson.

In the first game of the afternoon, Lorna Bennett played some great golf to beat top qualifier, Louise Kenney by 3 & 2.

In the next two games, Karin Sharp beat

Lorna Fury 5 & 4 and Fiona Lockhart beat

Jo Carthew 3 & 2.

The final game went to the 17th with local player, Lesley Rolland coming out victorious over Elaine Moffat by 3 & 1.

It was great to see so many of you.

In the Final, both players played some great golf but it was Fiona who was always in control.  After winning the 1st with a par 4, Fiona went on to win the 4th, 8th and 9th holes to be 4 up at the turn. 

The 10th hole also went to Fiona.  The next three holes were halved in par but Fiona then went on to secure victory with a superb birdie 3 at the 14th.  Well Done Fiona!

This is the second time that Fiona has won the Fife County Championshp.  The last time in 2005, she went on to complete a fantastic treble winning the East of Scotland and the Scottish Ladies Championships as well.
