Cuthbertson Cup 2007
GLENBERVIE G.C. - Sun 15th April 2007
FIFE TEAM
Rachel Myles, Camilla Tait, Hannah Harvey, Susan Jackson
The Cuthbertson Cup is a team match for junior girls between the four counties in the East Division (East Lothian, Fife, Midlothian and Stirling & Clackmannan).
Each team has 4 members. This year we had the same team as last year. Format is match play off scratch with players playing in handicap order. In the morning, counties play each other as drawn at the East Captains' Meeting in February. In the afternoon, the two winning teams from the morning play each other in 4 single matches and the two losing teams play 2 foursomes matches.
In the morning, the girls all won their games against a young East Lothian team. There was some great golf played, despite the higher handicaps ofthe East Lothian girls!
In the afternoon, Fife were up against Midlothian - a repeat of last years Final. Unfortunately, despite a galant fight from the Fife girls, the Midlothian girls proved too strong and won three of the four games to defend their title they won last year.
All the matches were played in great spirits and a pleasure to watch. The distance the girls now hit the ball is tremendous. Unfortunately this is the last year that Susan, Hannah and Rachel will be eligible to play in the Cuthbertson Cup but I would like to take this chance to say thank you to them for supporting Fife so well over the last few years. Camilla - it's up to you next year!!
